I offer research, analysis, and writing services to help you learn more about your history. Every project is unique, but each one includes the following elements:

  • A written agreement describing the scope of work and fees
  • A written report that includes my analysis of the question(s) you asked me to research, as well as full citations of all records I used in my research (including those that didn't turn up any information about your ancestors)

I follow the Code of Ethics of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Code of Ethics and Conduct of the Board for Certification of Genealogists.*

*Note that while I uphold the Board for Certification of Genealogist's code of ethics and conduct, I do not currently hold the Certified Genealogist credential.

I charge an hourly rate for my services, plus direct expenses (e.g. to obtain copies of records, or for travel outside of the Seattle metropolitan area) subject to agreed-upon limits.

Free Consultation

The best way to get started is to contact me to set up a free consultation. We'll set up a time to meet in person (if you're in the Seattle area) or by video chat/phone to talk about the mysteries you'd like to solve and how I may be able to help. If you're interested in working together, I'll put together a written proposal for you to review.
